Title: An Evening of Fabric Collage with Beverly Sky
Location: Spoke Gallery, 840 Summer Street, South Boston
No need to struggle to create beauty! Fabric collage is an exceptionally accessible art form
that I have taught to children aged eight to ninety-two.
All you need is fabric, ribbons, thread, scissors, glue and your creative spirit.
This workshop is inspired by the “Touched” project, created by Michael Dowling
and Medicine Wheel Productions at Spoke Gallery in South Boston
to remember those who we have lost or been touched by
during the multiple pandemics of AIDS, Covid, Racism and Addiction.
You are invited to create a fabric collage on a 16” x 16” sampler
that honors and reconnects us to our loved ones.
These squares will then be incorporated into an installation event at
The Cyclorama, Boston Center for The Arts on December 1
All materials will be supplied, and in addition,
you are encouraged to bring some of your own fabrics, a piece of clothing,
a handkerchief, something personal that you can incorporate into your piece.
